More Time: The Gift of God's Longsuffering

Pro 20:12  Ears that hear and eyes that see— the LORD has made them both.

Job 12:10  In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.

2Pe 3:9  The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Some thoughts, some things for you to ponder:

It’s thanksgiving weekend and there is, on some level, an expectation that we each ought to give thanks for something or someone. A good place to start is thanking God that He has given us a new day of life—breathing lungs, a beating heart, hearing ears and seeing eyes, smelling nose, tasting tongue, and tender touch. As I grow older, though, there is another gift I have become more thankful for: more time. More time to breathe in the cool autumn air, more time to love, to give, to share; more time to sing, more time to hear; more time for laughter, and yes, more time for tears. More time. Indeed this may be the truest gift of His grace, another moment to live, and to seek His glorious face—yes, I thank my God Who is outside of time and space.
